Jensen earns Lakes all-conference honors

Clayton and Moore receive honorable mention

Again Western Christian is the final Lakes Conference team to wrap up the volleyball season. With the Wolfpack finishing play at the state tournament on Friday, the Lakes All-Conference list can be fully released.

The Wolfpack, ranked second in Class 2A at the end of the season, had four players on the first team with there unanimous selections in junior Jamie Gesink and seniors Alissa Pollema and Haley Moss. Junior Ema Altena also made the first team.

Estherville Lincoln Central had one representative on the squad as Megan Jensen received second team all-conference honors.

Jensen finished with 137 kills on the season, an average of 2.69 per set. She also served at 91 percent (151-of-166) with 14 ace serves. She also led ELC with 96 digs.

Fellow juniors Caitlyn Clayton and Joslyn Moore received honorable mention all-conference honors. Clayton had 65 kills this season and was 114-of-119 serving with 10 aces. Moore had 205 set assists along with 95 digs. She was 151-of-171 serving with 21 aces.

Seniors Alicia Jorgenson and Maddy Burns earned Academic All-Conference honors. Senior Lauren Moeller received honorable mention Academic All-Conference.

The Midgets finished 11-18 overall and 3-4 in league play under first-year coach Carly Marx.

Spirit Lake had two players earn all-conference honors.

Bailey Loveall was named to the first team while Joie Veldman was named to the second team.

Loveall finished her senior season with 216 kills. She also was successful on 202 of 224 serves with 43 aces. Defensively she had 79 blocks.

Veldman, a sophomore, was second on the team in kills with 178. She also served well (214-of-232) with 33 aces. Defensively she had 51 digs and 23 blocks.

Junior Carly Ites and sophomore Bailee Newman received honorable mention all-conference.
