HULL, SHELDON - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire boys made it through one round of Class 1A playoff basketball, but couldn't defeat Boyden-Hull on Tuesday as the Titans season came to an end.

GT/RA started well against the Comets hitting four 3-pointers in the first quarter-two by Andy Geelan and one each from Lane Reiman and Noah Stukey- in building a 16-12 lead.

But with the Titans leading 22-15, Geelan picked up his third foul with five minutes left in the first half. Boyden-Hull scored the next nine points with GT/RA taking its last lead after a 3-pointer by Jared Sikora made the score 25-24.

The Comets scored the final seven points of the half to lead 31-25. The third quarter was the highest scoring of the night with Boyden-Hull stretching its advantage by two more points, 50-42, to enter the final quarter.

Geelan finished with 17 points and seven assists. Connor Sturgill finished with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five blocked shots. Stukey finished with five points, Mason McGrauth had four, Sikora and Reiman each had three and Taylor Enderson had one.

GT/RA finishes the season with a 17-5 record. With no seniors on the squad, the Titans could return their entire lineup next season.

Titans get past G-LR

Last Saturday, the Titans survived a last second shot by George-Little Rock, to advance to the next round of Class 1A district basketball.

Trailing 62-61, the Mustangs' 3-pointer from the corner at the buzzer clanged off the iron, popped up, bounced on the rim and rolled off as time expired.

The Titans had taken a 17-11 lead in the first quarter and led 41-29 at the break. But the Mustangs rallied to take a 48-47 lead to start the fourth quarter.

Connor Strugill led the Titans with 19 points and nine rebounds. Andy Geelan finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Noah Stukey had 13 points and five rebounds while Lane Reiman had six points and five assists.

Taylor Enderson finished with three points while Mason McGrauth and Nick Josephson each had two points.
