SPIRIT LAKE - Caitlyn Clayton threw her top throw of the season in the shot put and Alicia Jorgenson won both the 200 and 400-meter dashes to highlight Estherville Lincoln Central's day at the Spirit Lake Co-Ed Meet on Tuesday.
The performances helped ELC to a fourth-place finish overall behind Spencer (182), Spirit Lake Park (123) and Okoboji (80). North Union (64) finished fifth followed South O'Brien (55) and Clay Central-Everly (17).
Clayton's winning throw in the shot put was a personal record of 41 feet, 2 inches.
Jorgenson won the 200-meter dash in 28.48 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 1:03.52.
"I envision both girls betting better as they practice and compete hard," said ELC coach Tina Burton.
Jorgenson also anchored the sprint medley relay team of Briseide Segura, Taylor Karels and Carson Gjerde, which placed second in 2:08.86-16 hundredths of a second behind first-place North Union.
Megan Jensen also did well in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing second in 1:11.98.
"Megan ran the same time she did last Friday evening though it was very cold," said Burton.
