The Iowa Lakes baseball team picked up a pair of conference victories as North Iowa Area came to town on Friday.
The Lakers took the first game 7-2 and the second game 10-0 in five innings.
Kyle Thomas went the distance in the first game as he gave up two earned runs on nine hits with 10 strikeouts and one walk.
The Lakers pounded out 12 hits in the contest with Sean Alp going 3-4 with two RBI and Blake Rogers going 3-4. Also Hecmart Nieves was 2-5 with an RBI.
In the second game, Ryan Mose threw a one-hit shut out while striking out three batters in five innings of work.
The Lakers finished with eight hits and drew seven walks. Alp and Griffin Cole each went 2-3. Juan Perez was 1-2 with two RBIs.
Iowa Lakes (13-15 overall, 3-11 in the conference) hosts North Iowa Area for two more games today with an early start of 11 a.m. The Lakers host Anoka Ramsey on Monday at 1 p.m. and then travel to Willmar, Minn., on Wednesday to take on Ridgewater.
