LAURENS - The North Union girls will send four events to next week's Class 1A State Meet while the boys will send three events.
On the girls' side, McKayla Hardman will have a chance for great success next week in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. She qualified with the third-best time in Class 1A in the 100 in 12.95 seconds and with the fourth-best time in the 200 in 27 seconds even.
She also ran the third leg of the state-qualifying sprint medley of Morgan Rahm, Kyarsten Mullen, and Olivia Marlow. Their time of 1:56.38 ranks as sixth best in the state.
The fourth state-qualifying event is the shuttle hurdle relay team of Sarah Rolling, Ashley Olson, Emily Hagebock and Jordan Guerdet with their time of 1:13.27.
On the boys' side, Aric Runge qualified in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter low hurdles. His times were 16.27 seconds and 58.81 seconds, respectively. Also, Dyson Umscheid qualified for the shot put with a throw of 132 feet, 9 inches.
