Estherville News

Thumbs up to everyone who attended the Woody's Charities fundraiser Saturday night at Woody's Pizza. All the money raised goes to help people with debilitating illnesses in Emmet County.

Thumbs up to everyone who attended the Ducks Unlimited banquet last Saturday night at the Estherville Elks Lodge. A huge thumbs up has to go as well to the donors who helped make the auction possible. The general public needs to know too that it's events like this along with hunting habitat fees that create wildlife areas for everyone to enjoy.

Thumbs up to city and county road crews who cleared the streets in good order so everyone could get to work and school Monday morning. So the next time you see one of our dedicated road crew members, thank him for all that he does.

Thumbs up to everyone who attended the memorial benefit for Dee McDonald in the Powerantz Hall at Pearson Lakes Art Center Friday night. Everyone who went thoroughly enjoyed the performances by Dee's daughter, Ashley, and Alan Morphew.

Thumbs up to Iowa Lakes Community College students who are planning for the 15th annual Elizabethan Madrigal Feaste 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Estherville VFW. Thumbs up to Iowa Lakes music students also for the Holiday Coffee House they're planning for 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24. It's great to see an increasing number of community members attending these coffee houses. What a great way for students and community to meet. Community members are welcome to come perform as well.
