Community Christmas Project a wonderful gift

December 5, 2014
Estherville News

The Community Christmas Project held Tuesday morning was a wonderful gift from the community of Estherville to the community of Estherville - of a community giving to itself.

Several hundred people were served at the Duhigg Center, receiving warm hats, coats, mittens and toys for the children. It was a heartwarming event that filled the spirits of the givers at least as much as the receivers.

The Community Christmas Project is one of those events for which Estherville is known - like the Emmet County Relay for Life and other events in which people come together to help one another.

The Estherville Area Ministerial Association and its volunteers deserve mountains of accolades for their efforts. Huge thanks must also go to the many donations they received.

Thanks everyone. Your efforts are really appreciated.

Christmas concerts galore

If you like Christmas music, this is certainly the time of year to enjoy it.

On Thursday, the vocal Christmas concert was held for Estherville Lincoln Central grades 5-8.
