Thumbs up to all the kids from throughout the region who took part in the FIRST LEGO League competition last Saturday at the Iowa Lakes Community College Estherville campus gym. This was a great way for budding scientists to get firsthand knowledge about engineering and programming and to have fun doing it.

Thumbs up to the Many Voices Choir that performed last Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. It was an impressive and awe-inspiring performance, and director Tim Schumacher and everyone in the choir should have all our thanks for a wonderful concert.

Thumbs up to the Estherville Lincoln Central High School band and choir on their concert last Sunday at Roosevelt Auditorium. The talent these young people display is truly remarkable.

Thumbs up to Iowa Lakes Community College students on a wonderful performance at the annual Madrigal Feaste at the Estherville VFW. This is a great way for young people from the college to interact with the community.

Thumbs up to Dennis and Cindy Rohrbaugh for their wonderful Christmas lighting display at 921 N. 13th St. If you haven't had a chance to drive by yet, you're in for a real treat.

Thumbs up to the Demoney Elementary first and second grades on a great concert last Monday at Roosevelt Auditorium. This is always a very popular concert, and for good reason. The kids are absolutely charming.

Thumbs up to the Estherville Good Samaritan Society for hosting Business After Five this past Tuesday. The food was great and it was also a great way for Chamber members to find out what a great facility Good Sam really is.

Thumbs up to Emmet County Conservation Board director Eric Anderson and naturalist Jenna Pollock and all the volunteers for holding Christmas at the Cabin 1-4 p.m. today at the Peterson Point historic farmstead.
