Welcoming new ELC staff

August 26, 2015
Estherville News

Reading through the new Estherville Lincoln Central staff profiles, there is a common theme among the last question, which is, "What do you like about Estherville thus far?" That reoccurring theme is one of community support and welcoming.

As a new resident in any new place, it can bring about emotions of loneliness or awkwardness. However, it is the rural communities of Estherville and Emmet County that have embraced these new community members and shown to them how thankful we are that they have chosen Estherville and Emmet County as the place to live and work.

With many of the new staff, they have brought along their spouses and children, who also add to our great community whether it be new ideas or a new ELC athlete or band member.

One new teacher said that what she liked about Estherville thus far "is the idea that their school isn't just a representation of the economic stability of a community, but a reflection of how the community embraces its members and its new members."

Two of the new teachers are Estherville natives and both of which touched on the idea of pride and sense of community they enjoyed growing up here.

The responses given by the new staff are proof to the hard work that many community members have put forth to create a community that embraces new residents, strongly supports its schools and believes in creating a sustainable community that keeps generations from leaving.

Without the warmth and compassion that many of you have shown to others, especially these new teachers, we could not be the thriving community that we are.

As for the new ELC staff, Estherville News would like to welcome you to our great community!
