ELC FFA visits Texas

Students gain insight into horse, cattle industry

The Estherville Lincoln Central FFA?left Tuesday, Jan. 24, and stayed in Oklahoma City.

The group, led by ELC?Ag instructor LaKoda Kebler, toured a feedlot, a horse facility, and the stockyards.

On one warm night, they played golf.

The group spent three nights in Fort Worth, Texas, touring the stockyards, attending the stock show, and watching horse and cattle shows.

The group also watched the Fort Worth Championship Rodeo, toured the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, and walked through the Fort Worth Zoo.

Kelber said, "This trip showed the different aspects of the horse and cattle industry. Also, students got to see where a lot of the ag commodities in Iowa end up."

Students Emily Herum, Tiegen Huntley, Clayton Greig, Isaac Hanson, Isaac Regelstad, and Justin Christensen went on the trip.
