A memorial gathering was held from 2 until 3 p.m., Saturday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville
Edith Mae Beavers was born on Oct. 30, 1935, in Smyth County, West Virginia to George and Eva (Edder) Kegly. She died on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Pearl Valley Nursing Home in Estherville at the age of 81.
She married Armon N Beavers in Salem, West Virginia on July 12, 1962. She called many places home. But for the last 27 years, home was with her family. She lived in Dunedin, Fla., for 23 years before moving to Dunnell, Minn., in 2009. In 2016 she moved to Estherville and lived there until her death. Edith enjoyed being a caretaker. But, most of all her joy came from being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her dogs, music and crossword puzzles. She was a strong woman who lived, no matter what life brought her, with grace.
Edith is survived by her son William Beavers of Dunnell; her granddaughters Carolyn Beavers; Carissa Johnston and Adrianna Beavers of Estherville; and her great-granddaughter, Chyanne Johnston.
Edith has been preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Carl; Albert; Fred; Dorothy; Blanch; Sue; Ethel and Rita.
