Gruver Community Fire Department Chief Dan Harvey said the 2017 Ford F-550 Crew Cab truck will provide for the Gruver Department to be first responders to many kinds of emergencies in various settings.

"We were tired of getting stuck,"?Harvey said. "These units are made for driving over brush. They're used mainly out west in Wyoming and Idaho for wildfires. We can use them for farm fires and all kinds of environments here."

The truck, custom built by Midwest Fire in Luverne, Minn., includes a 300 gallon poly tank, and 100 foot booster hose line reel.
