Garden Goodness Market held a grand opening in Ringsted June 16.

"I just moved back to the area from Cleveland, Ohio," proprietor Joleen Nelson said at her Downtown Market stand Thursday evening.

Nelson's mobile shop offered orange rolls, dinner rolls, apple turnovers, sugar cookies, and other treats. The patriotic centerpieces were two cakes, one white and one chocolate, with white buttercream frosting, festooned with strawberries and blueberries to represent the American flag's stars and stripes.

"I hope these cakes sell," Nelson said.

Fresh garden produce will come soon. This was the case with a lot of the Downtown Market this early in the season.

Garden Goodness Market, the brick and mortar store, is located at 114 W. Maple in Ringsted.
