Over the past two decades, Stich's positions have progressively increased in administrative experience in community and technical college education. She has served as an associate dean, district curriculum and assessment administrator, dean and vice president.

"Dr. Stich has a wealth of experience that closely aligns with Iowa Lakes' short- and long-term goals," said Valerie Newhouse, President of Iowa Lakes. "She has a broad scope of experiences in academics and community college leadership, which will allow her to hit the ground running."

"Lisa has a strong familiarity with the Higher Learning Commission's Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) which is the accreditation process utilized by Iowa Lakes," Newhouse added.

Stich comes to Iowa Lakes from Illinois Central College where she is currently serving as interim vice president of academic affairs. Before that, she was vice president of academic and student services at West Shore Community College in Scottville, Mich.

Over the years, she has written strategic plans, board policies on instruction as well as grants to benefit students. She has also led development of a new success plan and metrics to help attain positive results for students.

"I am excited to be joining the fine team at Iowa Lakes in continuing to make a difference for our students," said Stich. "This is an exciting time to be joining the college, and I am eager to dive right in."

"Everyone has been very welcoming to my husband and me. We are looking forward to making Estherville our home and becoming involved in the very fabric of the community," Stich added.

Stich is expected to start her new job in mid-August.
