Nov. 1 is All Saints' Day, also known as the Feast of All Saints or Solemnity of All Saints, celebrated in honor of all the saints, famous and not.

The Our Hometown feature with graveside photos and a story about Henry-Olson Funeral Home, which ran in the October edition was so popular, there was not enough space for all the photos and stories received. Hence, our newsroom decided to make space for them here.

Larinda Mueller said she is proud of her family roots.

"This is my grandparents in Oak Hill Cemetery and the children (my aunts and uncles on my Dad's side) come visit them with gifts and conversations of how everyone is doing! I miss them and take pictures and share with the family as often as I can so we can all stay connected because now this family is getting older and not able to go visit them as they used to. This is my family on my dad's side - Glen and Helen Fisher and this is how we handle our grieving every time we lose loved ones."

Tanya Walders-Cole keeps her children's great-grandparents' spirits alive through stories.

"These are my girls Janelle and Jorja visiting their great grandparents. Although their grandma Josephine(whom our oldest was named after) passed before they got to meet her, my girls new their great-grandpa as "cookie grandpa," because he always had cookies for them even though they were 1 and 2 when passed Josephine was 11 we share many stories with the girls and our granddaughter so they will always know their"cookie" grandpa."

Carol Holl-Shaw said her siblings and a cousin stood at their mother's gravesite in Dolliver in March, 2017.

Holl-Shaw said, "There was a cold wind; the shortest service I have ever seen."

Celebrations of life, and remembrance on All Saints' Day keep the memories alive of those who have gone before residents of Emmet County.
