Bev and her older sister, Jeanette, grew up on farms around the Ringsted/Armstrong area and enjoyed visiting their grandparents and going to barn dances where Cliff would often play the fiddle. Bev graduated from Ringsted High School in 1948.

She married Richard Lee Christiansen Aug 6, 1950. As Dick was a sergeant in the US Air Force, they were stationed at Patrick AFB, Cocoa, FL, where a son, Terrence Lee, was born. Dick was then stationed at Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, AL, where he unexpectedly passed away.

To get back to Ringsted, Bev and Terry, only 10 months old, became the original "Plane, Train and Automobile" travelers. They lived in Ringsted, where she worked at the Emmet County State Bank, bought a house, then met her soul mate for life, James Richard Beaver. They were married Oct 2, 1954. A son, Robert James, was added to the family before moving to Estherville, IA in August of 1957. With two sons and daughters, Patricia Ann and Rebecca Lynn, born in Estherville, Bev was a very busy mother who found time to teach Sunday School at the First Presbyterian Church, was active in the PTA, and helped out with Cub Scouts and Brownies. After her children were older, she went too work at Boone's Jewelry. In 1977, Jim and Bev moved to Mesa, AZ, where they bought, fixed up, cleaned, rented and sold houses. Because it gets so hot in Arizona during the summer, they bought a house on the Leaf River, north of Staples, MN. When in Minnesota for the summers, Bev enjoyed attending the Thomastown Covenant Church, gardening, canning, pickling fish, and out-fishing her husband, children and grandchildren. In 1998, Jim and Bev moved to Spirit Lake, IA, where she enjoyed fellowship at the Good News Church and quilting with friends until the time of her death.

Bev is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jim; four children, Terry (Barb) Christiansen of Detroit Lakes, MN; Bob (Paula) Beaver of Estherville, IA; Patty (Paul) Freedman of Mesa, AZ; and Becky (Ed) Larkin of North Brookfield, MA; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marian Gardner, and brothers-in-law, Gerald (LeAnn) Beaver and Kenneth (Pat) Beaver.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; her parents; her sister, Jeanette; her parents-in-law, Charles and Gladys Beaver; and one grandson, Christopher.
