Friesner signs to play with Iowa Lakes

Estherville Lincoln Central senior Trevor Friesner plans to continue his basketball career at Iowa Lakes Community College next year.

Friesner helped the Midgets to their first winning record since 1997, as ELC finished the year with a 12-11 record in 2017-18. Friesner led ELC in scoring (11 points per game), rebounds (133), assists (42), steals (28) and blocked shots (5). Friesner shot 38 percent (87-of-227) from the field, 29 percent (20-of-68) from 3-point range and 69 percent (47-of-68) from the free throw line.

The ELC senior also received first team all-conference honors in the Lakes Conference.

Friesner will play for Iowa Lakes coach Troy Larson, who just wrapped up his 11th season in leading the Lakers. Iowa Lakes just wrapped up a 23-9 season while finishing second in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division II with a 9-3 record.
