ELC fifth graders take third at Pacesetter tourney

The Estherville Lincoln Central Fifth Grade Middle School Girls Travel Basketball Team finished its season by participating in the 2018 Pacesetter Great Five-State Championship Tournament July 13-14. On Friday, the team split games in Maple Grove, Minn., beating Devil's Lake, N.D., in the first game then losing to Bismark Energy, N.D., in the second game. The team faced Cedar Rapids Jefferson Saturday morning and ended up with the win and third place honors for the Fifth Grade Girls Division. This is a tournament of the top finishers in Pacesetter state tournaments in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. There are tournaments for grades four through nine. The top two in each state qualify automatically.
