Cowboys shutout Titans

BELMOND - Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire put up a good fight, but the Titans just couldn't finish off a drive in a 23-0 loss to Belmond-Klemme on Friday.

The Cowboys scored twice in the second quarter on a 24-yard pass and a 16-yard pass and added the two-point conversion after each one to lead 16-0.

Belmond-Klemme then added one more score in the fourth quarter and extra point for the final tally.

The Cowboys racked up 306 yards on the night-207 on the ground and 97 threw the air.

Both teams committed three turnovers, with GT/RA giving up three fumbles while the Titans' Jace Naig snagged an interception and Lucas Hoffman and Tyson Kruse both recovered Cowboy fumbles.

Most of GT/RA's offense came on the ground. Naig and Chris Conlon each had 16 carries with Naig recording 58 yards and Conlon with 56. Cormick Currans had four carries for 18 yards and Hoffman had two carries for 16 yards.

GT/RA completed just one pass with Conlon going 1-of-5 for 4 yards with Hoffman making the catch.

Conlon led the Titan defense with 10 tackles while Spencer Roth had eight. Carter Murray and Kadin Norris each had 5.5 tackles.

GT/RA (2-5 overall, 1-2 in district play) is on the road against West Hancock (5-2, 2-1) this Friday. The Eagles defeated West Fork 47-6 last Friday.
