Can’t keep from singing

ELC students and alumni at Iowa Lakes sing in Heartland Honor Choir concert Thursday evening. Students from Estherville Lincoln Central and Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire as well as South O'Brien, Pocahontas, Newell-Fonda, Clay Central Everly, Boyden-Hull, and Alta-Aurelia raised their voices with the Iowa Lakes Community College Choirs for a concert Thursday evening at the college. Guest conductor Mathew Armstrong from Wayne State College in Nebraska directed five songs from the 2018 Heartland Honor Choir. GTRA soprano Mackenzie DePyper won a $500 music scholarship to Iowa Lakes Community College. In addition to DePyper, Sayde Weller, Lauren Josephson, Chirstine Kor, Paislie Heywood, Emily Miller, Madison Petersen, and Josh Griffith were honor choir singers from GTRA. ELC singers included Camden McKenney, Sam Reiter, Marcus Dykstra, Cole Danner, Vanessa Vedder, Lena McCoy, Kenlee Schilling, Ruth Marth, Maggie Rezac, Kory Rezac, Kyla Hansen, Journey Johnson, Kaitlyn Pollock, and Jessica Wilson.
