Funeral services for Rosanne Hackett, 88, of Estherville, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with the Rev. Dr. Dave Ullom officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. Rosanne passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at her home in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Rosanne (Hagan) Hackett, the daughter of Hugh and Mabelle (Hollister) Hagan, was born June 24, 1930, in Storm Lake, Iowa.

She received her education in the Truesdale schools, graduating from Truesdale High School. Following graduation, Rosanne attended the Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls where she earned her Teaching Certificate.

Rosanne lived and taught kindergarten in Spirit Lake. On June 8, 1952, Rosanne was united in marriage to C.L. "Honey" Hackett at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville. For 53 years, the couple made their home near the Des Moines River on Second Avenue South, where they raised their three children. Rosanne was employed with the Estherville School District where she taught kindergarten from 1952-1953. In 1966, Rosanne established the Busy Beehive Preschool, which she operated until 1968. She then was employed teaching the Head Start program from 1968-1984. She started the Everybody's House of Learning, which she operated from 1985-1994. Following that Rosanne taught at the Christian School in Estherville and later started the Lollipop Kids, which she continued to her retirement. The couple enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with their family and in later years spent many summers entertaining their Texas grandchildren, who often spent their summers in Iowa. Honey died in 2009.

Rosanne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and First Christian Church in Estherville.

Left to cherish Rosanne's memory are her children, Thomas Lloyd Hackett and his wife, Marcia of Fort Worth, Texas; Loralee Donovan and her husband, Dan of Estherville; Elisabeth Ann (Betsy) Frame and her husband, Wayne of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren, Kelly Eppler and her husband, Brad, Kerry Hackett, Michael Hackett, Jonathan Donovan, Taylor Frame, Ally Frame; six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Virginia Lee Nelson and Norma Jean Reusche.

Preceding Rosanne in death were her husband and parents.
