A Celebration of Life service for Sherry Nauss, 80, of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with the Rev. Dr. Dave Ullom officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

She died on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at her home in Estherville.

Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.

Sherry Ann (Wee) Nauss the daughter of John and Ethel (Misner) Wee was born Nov. 17, 1938 in Estherville, Iowa.

She received her education and graduated from Estherville High School.

On Dec. 31, 1954 - on New Year's Eve, Sherry and Jerry eloped. They lived with her parents in Estherville until Saint Patrick's Day of 1956 when she and Jerry moved into their new home. She remained there for the rest of her life. Sherry was a stay at home Mom until her children were grown. She was then employed at Wooden Thimble in Estherville. Sherry had many talents. She was a gifted seamstress and made countless clothes for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching. Her family will cherish the many Christmas ornaments she made them over the years. Sherry enjoyed music. She played the piano, sang in the church choir and spent countless hours country western dancing with Jerry. She had a green thumb and grew beautiful houseplants. With all Sherry's many hobbies and talents, the thing she loved the most was being at home with her family.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as Deacon.

Left to cherish Sherry's memory are her husband, Jerry of Estherville; children, Steven (Cheryl) Nauss of Britt, Iowa; Mark (Lesa) Nauss of Estherville; DeeAnn (Damon) Omundson of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; Diane (Terry) Beirne of Jacksonville, Florida; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Wee.

She has been preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel; her brothers, Gerald and Merlyn Wee; sister, Vernice Challberg and grandson, John Nauss.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
