Warriors end week with pair of wins

ARMSTRONG - The North Union girls ended last week with a pair of victories, defeating Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 44-37 on Friday and Eagle Grove 73-31 on Saturday.

On Friday, Chloe Lofstrom scored 19 points and had 18 rebounds against GHV. The Warriors took a 20-18 lead at halftime and led 30-26 after three quarters. Brooklyn Prochniak had six points while Hope Steinberger had five points and seven steals. Lily Henderson and May Laverty each had four points, Rory McClellan had three, Maddie Rolling had two and Vanessa Von Bank had one.

On Saturday, Lofstrom had 24 points, 12 rebounds and five assists against Eagle Grove. North Union led 44-21 at halftime and then held the Eagles to two points in the third quarter while building a 60-23 advantage to start the final period.

Von Bank scored a career-high 21 points while shooting 7-of-12 from 3-point range Rolling and Steinberger each had six points, McClellan had four points, Sam Nielsen had four, Prochniak had three and Henderson had two. Steinberger also had six steals and four assists.

North Union (12-6 overall, 11-4 in the Top of Iowa West Conference) wraps up the regular season with two away games-at Belmond-Klemme today and at Newman Catholic on Tuesday.
