North Union boys score season-high 73 vs. Eagles

ARMSTRONG - The North Union boys scored a season-high 73 points in defeating Eagle Grove 73-49 on Saturday.

The Warriors led 35-25 at halftime and pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 24-8.

Noah Morphew led North Union with 22 points and six steals while Robert Ortman had 17 points and Elliott Hagebock had 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and six blocked shots.

Braden Pierce contributed 10 points, seven assists and four steals. Gage Madden had five points and Luke Schmidt, Colten DeVary, Avery Krantz and Jacob Burt each had two points.

On Friday, North Union was tied 21-21 with Garner-Hayfield/Ventura at halftime when the Cardinals out-scored the Warriors 50-20 in the second half to win 71-41.

Morphew led North Union with 11 points, Hagebock and Ortman each had nine, Krantz had four, Pierce and Brendan Anderson each had three and Madden had two.

North Union (3-14 overall, 3-12 in the Top of Iowa West Conference) is at Belmond-Klemme today and at North Butler on Tuesday.
