It was a true team victory for Estherville Lincoln Central, as the Midgets defeated Storm Lake 60-52 on Tuesday in the regular season finale.

Every single varsity player who dressed received a few minutes of playing time, as ELC led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter.

For Senior Night, ELC coach Don Martindale started the team's five seniors-Josie Condon, Lindsey Jensen, Kendall Evans, Brianne Vermeys and Sydney Swanson. The quintet played the first 4 minutes together, and limited Storm Lake to just five points, but struggled to find rhythm on offense with just one 3-pointer by Condon. However, Condon hit two more 3-pointers later in the period and ELC led 9-7 after one quarter.

"It's about believing in the kids and giving everyone a chance," said Martindale. "This was a good game to get everyone in. The only downside is we sent them to the free throw line too many times."

ELC's bench received more minutes, but Storm Lake tightened the game to 10 points, the seniors and starters both played the final minutes.

Condon led all scorers with 19 points while resetting the school record in made 3-pointers in a season. Vermeys finished with 14 points while Moore had 12. Heinrichs had five points, Nitchals had four, Sydney Swanson had a pair of free throws and Evans had one point.
