"The Hanson Family" brought their talents along with an educational message to Estherville Lincoln Central's Demoney Elementary last week.

A family of jugglers and unicyclists, the Hansons presented their "iCAN W.I.N." show for ELC preschool through second grades on Friday. They performed for third and fourth graders on Thursday.

Family patriarch Mark Hanson, a two-time Guinness World Record holder for speed juggling, explained the acronym used for W.I.N.

'W' is Work Hard

'I' is for Intelligent Practice

'N' is for Never Give Up.

Daughter Christa led off the performance, showcasing her unicycle talents while talking about working hard to learn her skills.

She first became interesting in the unicycle because her neighbors could do it. While they were on vacation, she practiced unicycling around a van.

Mark told the students about intelligent practice, as he began to learn to juggle as a teenager. He talked about working hard to learn the easier skills before moving on to a harder skill.

Both Mark and Christa talked about "never giving up" no matter how hard it became.

The Hanson Family has showcased their talents during halftime performances of the Harlem Globetrotters.

Other performers in the family are Mark's wife, also Christa, along with children, Matthew, Caleb, Jake and Anna. The The family hails from Kanawha, Iowa.
