Also for ELC, Ryan Schiltz and Hogan Kriech each shot a 47.

"This is probably the most pleased I've been after a meet this year," said ELC coach Dave Van Roekel. "We have lots of kids with physical ability, but tonight I saw some things mentally I've been hoping to see. Izaak continues his good play with another medalist round, and really has turned himself into a strategic player. Blake Ingvall had some fire in the belly tonight, and wondered what hole he lost the scorecard playoff on. Blake Miller was disappointed in his score tonight, and that's a good thing, because he knows he can do much better. Tristan Howard had another solid round and now is comfortable just doing what he does. Ryan Schiltz had a brutal start to his round and was poised and determined to play the final seven holes the best he could, and he did a great job doing that. Hogan Kriech is an unflappable young man, and will give his best until the last putt is holed."

For North Union, Hayden Nicoson led the Warriors with a 45 followed by Parker Eichenberger with a 48, Gage Madden with a 52. Non-counting score was a 60 by Carter Anderson.

In junior varsity play, ELC won with a 193 followed by Algona with 203 and North Union with 261

Griffin Hoyer led the ELC JV with a 46 followed by Seth Vaske with a 47, Cael Wodtke with a 49, and Carter Snyder a 51. Also, Quintin Marquez shot a 52 and Brandon Brunsvold shot a 54.

"I'm really happy that Griffin and Cael could get away from their home course and turn in nice rounds," said Van Roekel. "Seth Vaske has been a model of consistency, and just keeps getting better. Carter, Quintin, and Brandon all would have liked to do just a bit better, but still did okay. Also, we had great fan support today, and I know the kids enjoy playing in front of family and friends. It really was an enjoyable day, to be around such a great group of young men!"

ELC is at the Lakes Conference Tournament at Willow Creek Golf Course in LeMars today.

North Union hosts the Top of Iowa Conference West Meet in Armstrong today.
