An honor guard moved through conditions ranging from mist to driving rain showers as they saluted fallen service members at Estherville area cemeteries Monday morning.

At 11 a.m., community members gathered at the Readiness Center for a service that included music from the Estherville Lincoln Central High School band after junior Lena McCoy sang the National Anthem. Pastor Doug Burton gave a message of serving others, and Joseph May led a prayer of gratefulness for the service of those who have died.

The honor guard then dedicated sixteen flags of veterans who have died.
