Richard Lyle Carrico

Richard Lyle Carrico, the son of Charles and Sophie (Coopersmith) Carrico, was born January 22, 1936 in Redfield, South Dakota. He died on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 83.

He received his education in Redfield schools.

On June 16, 1957, he was united in marriage to Doris Bandow at the First Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. They made their home in Manilla, Iowa, where Dick worked as a carpenter for Rasmussen Lumber Company. In 1977, the family moved to Estherville and Dick worked for Fagre Construction.

Dick enjoyed watching sports and westerns and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Estherville.

Left to cherish Richard's memory are his children, David (Beth) Carrico and Cynthia Kulow all of Estherville; grandchildren, Emily Carrico, Makala Carrico, Ryan (Ashley) Carrico, Brad (Holly) Carrico, Sarah (Josh) Hilton, Eric Kulow, Casie (Mike) Johns; great grandchildren, Noah Carrico, Oliver Carrico, Liam Carrico, Mea Carrico; and two sisters, Betty of South Dakota and Evelyn of California.

He has been preceded in death by his wife, Doris; son, Michael; grandsons, Alan and Jon Carrico; eight siblings and his parents.

As per Richard's wishes, there will be no formal services held. He will be buried next to his wife Doris at the Nishnabotna Cemetery in Manilla, Iowa, at a later date.
