Beulah "Bee" Graettinger

A Mass of Christian Burial for Beulah "Bee" Graettinger, 97, of Graettinger, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2019, at Immacaulate Catholic Church in Graettinger with Father William Schrieber, celebrant. Interment will be at St. Jacob's Catholic Cemetery, Graettinger. She passed away on July 17, 2019 at Good Samaritan Home in Estherville.

Beulah "Bee" N. Graettinger was born on Jan. 1, 1922, in Okoboji Township, Dickinson County, Iowa to Meliom and Cora (Wede) Svendsen.

Bee attended and graduated from Okoboji High School, she then attended Buena Vista College. Following college, she taught school and was a substitute teacher in Graettinger, Iowa. On June 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald Graettinger in Milford, Iowa. The couple ran Graettinger Freight Line. They later ran Don's Gas & Oil, & Don's Car Wash in Graettinger, which she was the bookkeeper for.

Bee was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger, where she was involved in Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Bee taught catechism for numerous years while her children were growing up, she was also the Director of Religious Education for Father Beacon. She was also very active in the American Legion Auxiliary in Graettinger, as a life member. Bee was a past District 8 President for the Auxiliary. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing 500, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Bee is survived by her daughters Arlys (Mark) Mitchell of Estherville and Connie (Steve) Dobbins of Graettinger, six grandchildren: Travis (Andrea) Mitchell, Wade Mitchell, Ryan (Nichole) Dobbins, Bret (Crystal) Dobbins, Brooke (Chuck) Tasler, and Courtney (Danny) Sexe, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bee is preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, her daughter Anne, her son Alan, her brothers Dale and Curt.
