Two Estherville Lincoln Central wrestlers will move on to districts in the postseason following action at the Class 2A Sectional Tournament in Humboldt on Saturday.

Freshman Zavion McMurran (195) spent less than two minutes on the mat with a pair of pins to win his first sectional title.

Junior Garrett Paulson (160) finished second to also earn the right to advance.

McMurran (36-6) entered the sectional as the top seed and had a bye in the quarterfinal. He needed just 52 seconds to pin Southeast Valley's Dylan Burnette to advance to the final against Emmetsburg's Jon Lace II (26-13), McMurran caught Lace and pinned the E'Hawk wrestler in 41 seconds.

Meanwhile, Paulson (26-12) faced Emmetsburg's Colton Andersen in the semifinal. Paulson took a 4-1 lead in the second period when Andersen scored a takedown. Paulson came right back with the reversal and put Andersen on his back in 3:22. That set up a final against Humboldt senior Levi Naeve. Naeve built a 7-2 lead with Paulson scoring a late takedown before losing 7-4.

Both McMurran and Paulson will travel to the Class 2A District 1 meet in Algona this Saturday in their quest for a trip to the state tournament.

Freshman Nick Lyman (220) was the only ELC wrestler to finish third. He lost a 19-5 major decision to Mark Hughes of Southeast Valley in the semifinal, then pinned Emmetsburg's Kyle Kogel in the third-place match. However, Lyman did not get a wrestleback, as he finished up a 16-16 record for his freshman season.

Will Martin (113), Michael Houge (120), and Royce Coakley (182), all went 1-2 on the day and finished fourth. Houge and Coakley were ELC's only seniors wrestling at the sectional, as they wrap up their careers.

Isaac Reineke (106), Brigham Vermeys (138), Cruz Hernandez (152), and Ashton Bradley (170) all finished fifth. Quintin Marquez (126), Raul Diaz (152) and Jess Christensen (285), all placed sixth.
