Marlin Elvin Paulson

Marlin married the love of his life, Carolyn Ruth Harvego, on Oct. 24, 1959, and together they raised their son Barry and daughter, Sherry in the Armstrong/Halfa area. Through the years Marlin had a few job and titles, his favorite one was being Grandpa to 'his boys', grandsons Jakob and Garrett. Marlin was always very friendly, with a wave and smile for everyone he met. He always was there to help lend a helping hand.

Marlin enjoyed living on the farm with the fresh air, working the land, and raising and showing quarter horses. He was an Army Veteran, a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong, and a friend to everyone he met. Marlin worked at Art's Way Manufacturing for 56 years, organized and enjoyed many bus tours to Branson and enjoyed going to Sprint Car Races with his boys and friends. His favorite past time was spending time with his family, telling stories, and giving everybody a hard time.

Left to cherish Marlin's memory are his wife of 60 years, Carolyn of Armstrong; children, Barry Paulson and Sherry Paulson both of Estherville; grandchildren, Jakob and Garrett Paulson; brother, Arnold Paulson; sisters, Aileen Rienhardt; Pauline Solberg and Karen (Gary) Thackery all of Armstrong. He is also survived by his siblings-in-law Nancy Marriott, Ernie (Janet) Harvego, Jane (Myron) Wodtke, Lois (Gary) Dalen, and Judy Paulson and many nieces and nephews.

He has been preceded in death by his parents Gunder and Lila; brothers, Richard and Ernie; sister, Marion Paulson; daughter-in-law, Teresa (Thoreson) Paulson; and his "special brother" Denny Theesfield. He is also preceded in death by his sister-in-law Mary Lee Paulson and brothers-in-law Dale Marriott and Roger Solberg.
