JoAnn Kaye Stinehart

A graveside service for JoAnn Kaye Stinehart, 76, will be held at 11 a.m., June 19, 2020, at East Side Cemetery in Estherville with Pastor John Syvertson officiating. She passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2020, at Spencer Hospital.

JoAnn Kaye Stinehart, daughter of Clarence and Anna (Laue) Mitchell, was born on Jan. 31, 1944, in rural Emmet County, Iowa.

JoAnn attended and graduated from Estherville High School. She then attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, where she studied criminal justice. Following college, she worked at area businesses before moving to Phoenix. JoAnn was united in marriage to Richard Crees on March 9, 1962. Richard passed away from a car accident on May 26, 1962. She was united in marriage to Vern Stinehart in 1965, this marriage was later dissolved. She moved to Wisconsin in 1988, where she lived and worked for the next 30 years. In 2018, she moved to Spencer, Iowa to be closer to her son.

JoAnn was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville. JoAnn was a game show fanatic, she knew what time all of her favorites were on! She also enjoyed playing BINGO and listening to Elvis songs. Every summer she enjoyed taking her children on vacations throughout the United States.

JoAnn is survived by her children Mark (Julie) Crees of Clarksville, Arkansas, Kenneth Stinehart of Spencer, Iowa, and Crealetta Mitchell of Milltown, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; and three great-granchildren. JoAnn is also survived by her sister Jean (Ronald) Wielert of Clarksville, Arkansas and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Richard Crees, four brothers, and three sisters.
