SPIRIT LAKE - A grand slam walk-off home run by Jadynn Moore was a fitting way for Class 3A No. 13 Estherville Lincoln Central to win its region quarterfinal against Okoboji with a 10-0, five inning victory on Wednesday.

The Midgets pounded out 10 hits in the victory and Moore reached base four times-twice getting hit by a pitch along with a leadoff single in the third inning.

ELC (10-3 overall) will host Friday's 7 p.m., region semifinal against 15th-ranked Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley (12-2), which defeated Sheldon 7-6. The region final will be at 7 p.m., Monday at a site to be determined.

In the quarterfinal game against Okoboji, played in Spirit Lake, ELC took control in the first inning. Tatum Dunlavy and Moore were both hit by pitch in the bottom of the inning and completed the double steal to advance to second and third. A one-out groundout to second base by Jaydan Nitchals brought Dunlavy home and then Kendyl Ruschy doubled to left-center field to bring Moore home.

ELC added two runs in the third, as Moore singled, stole second and scored when Lena McCoy singled. Moore went to second as the Pioneers had an error on the play and then took third base on a wild pitch. A single by Ruschy to left brought in McCoy for a 4-0 Midget lead.

Ruschy led off the fifth inning with a solo home run to left-center field. ELC loaded the bases as Madison Valen drew a walk, Jordyn Moore singled and Amara Heinrichs reached on an error. An infield single by Jasey Anderson brought Valen home for a 6-0 lead. After Dunlavy popped up for the first out, Moore then hit her walkoff home run, as she finished 2-2 on the night. Ruschy was 3-3 with three RBIS while Jordyn Moore also was 3-3, Anderson was 2-3 and McCoy as 1-3 with an RBI.

Gabrielle Paul pitched all five innings in earning the win, as she gave up just two hits in the contest.
