Valley Vue reports five new COVID-19 cases

Valley Vue Care Center reported recently that they have had three staff members and two residents test positive for COVID-19 through surveillance testing. As the Estherville News reported in early June, staff continues to be screened at the beginning and end of each shift, and residents and tenants are closely monitored throughout each day and night. All residents and staff will being another testing process and be notified, along with family members of residents, of ongoing developments. Emmet County Public Health and the Iowa Department of Public Health have assisted with testing and contact tracing.

As of late Wednesday, Emmet County has 120 cases of COVID-19 with 73 of those recovered. Forty-eight percent of the total cases have been in younger adults aged 18-40. Nearly 2,500 Emmet County residents have taken the Test Iowa assessment.
